Closure

Last night I heard a commercial stating that Listerine could restore enamel to teeth. I did not think anything could restore enamel to teeth so I went to the Net to find out one way or the other.

While I was on the internet I decided to check my email. I found that my ex-boyfriend, Chris, had sent me an email earlier in the day. I was totally shocked. He had gone over three weeks without responding to any of my calls or emails. I must have stared at the unopened email icon for five minutes before I got the nerve to click on it to open it.

I will not say everything Chris wrote, just the gist of it. He told me that for a long while he was mad about the dumb stuff I had said on Valentine’s Day, and he was disappointed in me for saying it, but that he was not mad or disappointed anymore. He told me that he thought I was a very nice, sweet person but that we were not quite right for each other and it is best that we have ended our relationship. That’s about it.

Chris could be funny and playful, but also serious and insightful. I liked Chris for a lot of reasons, but mostly because he was a kind, gentle, and thoughtful guy. It took kindness just to write me the email, let alone compose the sentiments that were in it. I replied to Chris by saying that I hope he finds a lovely, affectionate girl, and whoever she might be, he deserves her.
